Way Lubricants are special products for lubricating the slideways of machine tools. They contain friction modifiers and extreme pressure additives to provide smooth operation, free from stick-slip, and protect against wear and corrosion. It also contains a tackiness agent to prevent squeeze-out of the lubricant. Available as ISO 68 and 100 viscosity grades.
Slideways of machine tools and for slides and guides on other types of machines where a tacky, non-corrosive lubricant with extreme pressure properties is required.
Other industrial applications requiring an adhesive, corrosion inhibited lubricant with EP properties.
PRODUCT BENEFITS Smooth, chatter free operation:
Minimises stick-slip and chatter so that machine carriages start readily and do not stick and chatter even at low speeds. Permits improved surface finishes particularly in machining operations where very slow carriage speeds are required. This is accomplished through the use of a special friction modifier which ensures that the coefficient of static friction is less than the coefficient of kinetic friction.
Reduced downtime:
Extreme pressure additives prevent wear and scoring of the slideways and guides. Rust and corrosion inhibitors protect machine components including bronze or white metal parts of carriages or ways.
Stays in place:
Special tackiness agent prevents fluid from draining away from lubricated surfaces, particularly on vertical ways. Tackiness and high film strength minimises squeeze-out of the lubricant on heavily loaded ways, and prevents fluid washout by emulsifiable cutting fluids.
